D.Minn.: Nine state CSLI warrants were issued with PC and were particular

Nine state search warrants were issued for CSLI to attempt to solve nine pharmacy robberies in March-June 2018. Aside from potential standing on questions on some warrants, the search warrants were issued with probable cause and they were particular. Finally, the search warrant could be relied upon under the good faith exception. Carpenter is not cited because these were all done with warrants and probable cause, and all apparently before Carpenter. United States v. James, 2018 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 210433 (D. Minn. Dec. 13, 2018).* [Not all CSLI cases before Carpenter were without search warrants; I’ve had two with warrants.]

One doesn’t have standing in another person’s CSLI data. Even if he did, it was done in good faith. United States v. Anthony, 2018 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 209896 (E.D. Pa. Dec. 13, 2018).*
