CA6: Social media selfie created RS for parole search

Defendant was on supervision for a prior child pornography offense. Police looked to his social media page and found him taking a naked selfie wearing a Santa hat with a camera phone, a violation of the terms of his release. That linked to “fat.naked.santa” with more pictures. It also suggested an unauthorized method of internet access via the smartphone. All this gave reasonable suspicion for a “parole” search under federal law. United States v. Hilton, 2015 U.S. App. LEXIS 16210 (6th Cir. September 9, 2015).*
