CBS19: CPD hires first Fourth Amendment Investigative Analyst:

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) — The Charlottesville Police Department says it has created a position for a Fourth Amendment Investigative Analyst.

According to a release, the department has hired Larry Jacobs, a native of Portsmouth and retired Portsmouth Police Department officer as well as a former Virginia Magistrate, for the position. He will start on Dec. 7.

This position was created as part of a restructuring process that is underway at the police department under the leadership of Chief RaShall Brackney, who has created this civilianized position and others to respond to demands for greater transparency, legitimacy and trust.
