Courthouse News Service: Judge Blocks ICE From Using Flawed Databases to Detain Immigrants by Jon Parton:

A federal judge in California issued a permanent injunction Friday night that halts Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents from targeting immigrants based solely upon flawed information contained in multiple databases.

The injunction, issued by U.S. District Judge Andre Birrote Jr., prevents ICE from solely using information on scattered databases in its requests to law enforcement agencies to detain immigrants in custody who are in the country illegally, up to 48 hours after their scheduled release.
