NYTimes: In New Filing, Apple Resists F.B.I.’s Call to Open iPhone in Drug Case by Eric Lichtblau:

Apple told a federal court on Friday that it should not have to help the F.B.I. unlock an iPhone used by a Brooklyn drug dealer and that the case would lead to ‘an avalanche’ of similar demands if prosecutors prevailed. Apple’s lawyers, in a new filing in Federal District Court for the Eastern District of New York, said that a judge should uphold an earlier ruling that the Justice Department had gone beyond its authority in demanding Apple’s technical help.
