Routine border search of laptop and CDs was valid

Search of computer and CDs at the border was justified as a border search without reasonable suspicion. Alternatively, there was reasonable suspicion based on defendant’s criminal record with minors. United States v. Bunty, 617 F. Supp. 2d 539 (E.D. Pa. 2008).

The defendant’s argument that his stop was unreasonably extended for spurious reasons to keep him on the side of the road until the drug drog arrived was rejected. There was reasonable suspicion. State v. Ramirez, 145 Idaho 886, 187 P.3d 1261 (App. 2008).*

Odor of ether coming from defendant’s person and car after a traffic accident justified its search. Also, officers saw a gun clip in plain view before the search. Peters v. State, 888 N.E.2d 274 (Ind. App. 2008).
