Chicago Tribune: New ‘explosives screening team’ deploys to River North CTA station by Tony Briscoe:

The Chicago Police Department’s newly formed “mobile explosives screening team” swabbed the bags of some passengers entering a River North train station Thursday morning as a part of a new counterterrorism initiative.

Chicago police began conducting the pop-up screenings at CTA train stations Monday, joining cities like New York, Washington, D.C., and Los Angeles that have already implemented similar security strategies.
