In a complete turn-around from the dogged opposition by the former administration, Mayor Bill de Blasio said we “accept the facts and road map laid out” in Judge Shira Scheindlin’s “landmark ruling” and vowed to follow through on reforming NYPD policies and to keep a court-appointed monitor on the job.

At a press conference Thursday, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and Police Commissioner William Bratton said they will pursue changes in the city’s stop-and-frisk policies found unconstitutional by a federal judge and keep a court-appointed monitor on the job.
