NE: Probation search condition included looking for knives under state law

Nebraska makes possession of a knife with a blade more than 3½” long a crime. Somebody reported seeing his knife collection, and probation came to his house and wanted to see it. The entry into the house was valid under his probation condition. State v. Green, 287 Neb. 212, 842 N.W.2d 74 (2014).*

Defendant’s stop based on a window tinting violation was valid, and that led to smelling marijuana. The window tinting statute was not unconstitutionally vague, so the stop was valid. State v. Davidson, 2013 Tenn. Crim. App. LEXIS 1034 (November 26, 2013).*

The district court’s findings of consent to enter and search are not clearly erroneous. Once they were in, defendant admitted to cooking crack there 20-30 times. United States v. Parrett, 552 Fed. Appx. 462 (6th Cir. 2014).*
