CA10: Abandoning car keys is an abandonment of car

Abandoning car keys and disavowing them is an abandonment of the car. United States v. Brown, 288 Fed. Appx. 518 (10th Cir. 2008) (unpublished).*

School’s alleged excessively putting plaintiff’s son in timeout for behavioral problems, even if it was a Fourth Amendment seizure, was justified by the circumstances. Couture v. Bd. of Educ. of the Albuquerque Pub. Schs, 535 F.3d 1243 (10th Cir. 2008).*

Defendant passenger had standing to contest the stop of the vehicle he was in even if he lacked standing to contest a search of the vehicle. The traffic stop here was continued with reasonable suspicion. United States v. Torres-Ramos, 536 F.3d 542, 2008 FED App. 0281P (6th Cir. 2008).*
