CA11: Stop at ICE’s request was justified by defendant’s speeding

Officer stopped van at the request of ICE, but it was also because he was speeding. The defendant was told he was free to leave and the stop continued, so it was not unreasonable. United States v. Chicas, 287 Fed. Appx. 830 (11th Cir. 2008) (unpublished).*

Officer’s smell of marijuana coming from the passenger compartment was enough to permit a search of the passenger compartment. United States v. Crumb, 287 Fed. Appx. 511, 2008 FED App. 0445N (6th Cir. 2008) (unpublished).*

Officers had probable cause to stop defendant for suspicion of bank robbery since he matched the description of the robber and was seen within thirty minutes of the robbery walking in the neighborhood. United States v. Jones, 535 F.3d 886 (8th Cir. 2008).*
