The name suggests that it\u2019s data about data, and the Obama administration has gone to some lengths to reassure Americans that \u201cmetadata\u201d is definitely not \u201ccontent,\u201d which unlike your \u201cmetadata\u201d presumably enjoys Fourth Amendment protections.
