Many thanks to state Rep. Bryan Hughes (R-Mineola) for filing <a href=\"http:\/\/www.capitol.state.tx.us\/BillLookup\/History.aspx?LegSess=83R&amp;Bill=HB1608\">HB 1608<\/a>, which would require police to obtain a warrant to access location tracking data from your cell phone or other wireless communications device. Rep. Hughes sits on the House Criminal Jurisprudence Committee which would likely hear the legislation.
