{"id":7403,"date":"2012-07-09T07:36:15","date_gmt":"2012-07-09T07:36:15","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2012-07-09T07:36:15","slug":"en-US","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fourthamendment.com\/?p=7403","title":{"rendered":"HuffPo: &#8220;ACLU Police App Lets People Police The Police (VIDEO)&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>HuffPo: ACLU Police App Lets People Police The Police (VIDEO) by David Moye:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Smartphones allow people to check email, Facebook and Twitter accounts, and now keep an eye on the police &#8212; at least in New Jersey.<\/p>\n<p>The New Jersey chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU-NJ) has just released \u201cPolice Tape,\u201d an Android phone app that allows people to securely and discreetly record and store their interactions with police, as well as provide legal information about citizens\u2019 rights when interacting with law officers.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The story points out that there is only such a constitutional right recognized in NJ. Elsewhere too. No case has held that a person does not have a constitutional right to record the police.
