When the gun wasn\u2019t found there, the officer searched the trunk, finding it. The probable cause, however, did not extend to the trunk. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.courts.ca.gov\/opinions\/documents\/C096463.PDF\">People v. Leal<\/a>, 2023 Cal. App. LEXIS 563 (3d Dist. July 25, 2023).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe conclude that Littlejohn failed to make the required substantial preliminary showing, instead relying only on conclusory allegations of falsity.\u201d United States v. Littlejohn, 2023 U.S. App. LEXIS 18935 (4th Cir. July 25, 2023).*<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Affidavit establishes probable cause. It describes Hayes\u2014a known drug supplier\u2014speaking with Peoples, immediately traveling to a place where he stores drugs, then immediately traveling to Peoples&#8217;s house.\u201d That was nexus. United States v. Peoples, 2023 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 126959 (E.D. Mich. July 24, 2023).*<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Driving with an open container and a visible firearm would be reasonable suspicion in Michigan.
