Daily News: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.galvnews.com\/news\/galveston-swat-team-wrecks-wrong-house-in-search-for-wrong-suspect\/article_9d006a3b-5fd3-5e94-8823-c200cb849d29.html\">Galveston SWAT team wrecks wrong house in search for wrong suspect<\/a> by Trace Harris:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Members of an island family assert they were injured and traumatized and their house wrecked by a SWAT team searching for a homicide suspect who wasn\u2019t there and who was later cleared of involvement in a shooting death.<\/p><p>The police department argues the team was only following its training when it raided a house in the 5300 block of Avenue O, shattering windows with \u201cflashbang\u201d devices, kicking in doors and ripping out wires.<\/p><p>. . .<\/p><p>After police had cleared the house of all occupants, officers continued to break garage windows with a wooden stick, Rios said.<\/p><p>An officer ripped out two cameras in her living room and kitchen, but she still had one that captured the whole raid, Rios said.<\/p><p>\u201cWhen the officer found the other camera, he started laughing and said, \u2018who keeps cameras in their living room,\u2019\u201d Rios said.<\/p><p>\u201cI\u2019ve been left with traumatized kids, no heat in my home and busted windows, all because they were looking for somebody who didn\u2019t even live there, who was also innocent.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Galveston Co.
