Dec.19, 2020).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOn the record before us, the search of the defendants&#8217; bags \u2014 as evidenced by the sergeant&#8217;s command to \u2018double-check\u2019 and \u2018verify\u2019 that the defendants did not have any tools in their possession \u2014 was a fishing expedition. Indeed, \u2018double-check\u2019 implies that \u2018everything is okay,\u2019 but \u2018let&#8217;s make sure.\u2019 In the realm of Fourth Amendment analysis, and on this record (i.e., aside from fitting the description of the suspects, there was nothing suspicious about the defendants, they were compliant, and it was not a consensual encounter) \u2018double-check\u2019 and \u2018let&#8217;s make sure\u2019 equate to an impermissibly prolonged stop.\u201d <a href=\"http:\/\/www.supremecourt.ohio.gov\/rod\/docs\/pdf\/8\/2021\/2021-Ohio-12.pdf\">State v.
