The legislature amended it by a supermajority, but none of the amendments dealt with this issue. The court of appeals properly held the private party\u2019s violation of the law wasn\u2019t subject to the exclusionary rule. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.courts.ca.gov\/opinions\/documents\/S242244.PDF\">People v.
