A person leaving the U.S. and denied entry into Canada is subject to a border search the same as a traveler who was accepted into Canada. Canadian authorities suspected defendant had child porn on his laptop computer, found it, and detained him until he could fly back to Seattle. On reentry into the U.S., Customs could search his computer as a part of the border search. He was given away by his browser history, too. United States v. Romm, 455 F.3d 990 (9th Cir.
