Even so, deleted files were potentially recoverable by forensic analysis of the computer. United States v. Pinchot, 2016 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 67274 (E.D.Mich. April 28, 2016), adopted 2016 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 66485 (E.D. Mich. May 20, 2016).<\/p>\n<p>Defendant was charged with Medicare fraud on information from MEDIC. \u201cMEDIC is an entity \u2018charged by the government to oversee the Medicare Part D drug benefit program and identify fraud[,] waste[,] and abuse.\u2019\u201d There was a search warrant for MEDIC information that ultimately expired. After a long analysis of the source of the information and the fact the government was not going to use anything from one MEDIC file at trial, the second MEDIC file has separate sourcing, and the motion is denied as moot. United States v. Barrett, 2016 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 67718 (E.D.N.Y.
