Defendant\u2019s patdown led to finding a hard object between his \u201cbutt cheeks.\u201d The officer could pull out his waistband to look. This was not a strip search, and the officer took reasonable measures to protect defendant\u2019s privacy as required by the case law. <a href=\"http:\/\/appellate.nccourts.org\/opinions\/?c=2&amp;pdf=MjAxMi8xMS0xMTYzLTEucGRm\">State v. App. LEXIS 776 (June 19, 2012).<\/p>\n<p>No clear error in the district court\u2019s conclusion that a purse was under joint control of the driver and passenger for consent purposes. The strip search at the jail was justified because of information defendant had secreted drugs in body cavities before. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ca9.uscourts.gov\/datastore\/memoranda\/2012\/06\/21\/10-30317.pdf\">United States v. Bear<\/a>, 473 Fed. Appx. 525 (9th Cir. 2012).*<\/p>\n<p>The trial court\u2019s credibility determination that it believed the officer that he smelled marijuana and saw smoke coming from defendant\u2019s ice cream truck was binding on probable cause, despite the testimony that no ash or residue of the smoking was found there. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dccourts.gov\/internet\/documents\/08-CF-475_mtd.pdf\">Gilliam v.
