{"id":7061,"date":"2012-05-01T13:11:41","date_gmt":"2012-05-01T13:11:41","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2012-05-01T13:11:41","slug":"en-US","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/fourthamendment.com\/?p=7061","title":{"rendered":"ACLU: Government Settles Charity\u2019s Lawsuit Over Unconstitutional Terrorism Probe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ACLU news release: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aclu.org\/national-security\/government-settles-charitys-lawsuit-over-unconstitutional-terrorism-probe\">Government Settles Charity\u2019s Lawsuit Over Unconstitutional Terrorism Probe<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p> The U.S. Treasury Department has settled a lawsuit brought by KindHearts for Charitable Humanitarian Development, an Ohio-based charity that was under investigation for alleged ties to terrorism.<\/p>\n<p>After a string of legal victories for the group, including court findings that the government\u2019s actions violated its due process and Fourth Amendment rights, the government has agreed to remove it from a blacklist and let it distribute funds raised for humanitarian causes consistent with the intent of donors.
