A welfare community caretaking check isn\u2019t unreasonable just because it\u2019s intertwined with a potential crime. Children can\u2019t be expected to fend for themselves in this situation. <a href=\"https:\/\/flcourts-media.flcourts.gov\/content\/download\/2471066\/opinion\/Opinion_2024-2490.pdf\">State v. Leiby<\/a>, 2025 Fla. App. LEXIS 8339 (Fla. 4th DCA Nov. 5, 2025).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAs did the district court, for each officer, we start and end with the \u2018clearly established law\u2019 prong of the qualified immunity analysis. We do so because Johnson offers no clearly established law applicable to either officer&#8217;s conduct, and that is fatal to her arguments for both Connolly and Vado.\u201d It is plaintiff\u2019s burden to show it.
