{"id":5383,"date":"2011-04-02T16:26:48","date_gmt":"2011-04-02T16:26:48","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2011-04-02T16:26:48","slug":"en-US","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/fourthamendment.com\/?p=5383","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Prosecutors and Judges to Join Police at DWI Checkpoints to Enforce New \u2018No Refusal\u2019 Law&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On ABAJournal.com: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.abajournal.com\/news\/article\/prosecutors_and_judges_to_join_police_at_dwi_checkpoints\/\">Prosecutors and Judges to Join Police at DWI Checkpoints to Enforce New \u2018No Refusal\u2019 Law<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>In what is billed as a first-of-a-kind law enforcement effort in Jasper County, Mo., prosecutors and judges will be joining police at drunken-driving checkpoints, starting tonight, to enforce a new &#8220;no refusal&#8221; statute in the state.<\/p>\n<p>If motorists who seem to be driving while intoxicated refuse to take a breath test, a warrant will issue on the spot authorizing a blood draw for a blood-alcohol test, according to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.koamtv.com\/Global\/story.asp?S=14368238\">KOAM<\/a> {&#8220;Prosecutors and judges to be on site at DWI checkpoints&#8221;}.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.columbiatribune.com\/news\/2010\/dec\/15\/agency-urges-no-refusal-dwi-policies\/\">Columbia Daily Tribune<\/a> says nine states including Missouri have such no-refusal initiatives. The others are Arizona, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Kansas, Louisiana, Texas and Utah.
