His behavior became suspicious, and they had reasonable suspicion to frisk the car for a weapon under <a href=\"http:\/\/scholar.google.com\/scholar_case?case=4292797909531857390&amp;q=Michigan+v.+long&amp;hl=en&amp;as_sdt=1002\">Long<\/a>, including a lockbox. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ca9.uscourts.gov\/datastore\/memoranda\/2010\/08\/31\/09-30034.pdf\">United States v. Wubbold<\/a>, 394 Fed. Appx. 371 (9th Cir. 2010).<\/p>\n<p>Defendant doctor indicted for death of patient by overprescribing consented to the search of his car, and that overcame both his and his wife\u2019s interest in the car\u2019s contents. United States v. Masih, 2010 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 91289 (N.D. W. Va. August 31, 2010).*<\/p>\n<p>In a knock-and-talk (by U.S. Forest Service officers, no less) there is \u201cno meaningful distinction between a request to \u2018look around\u2019 and a request \u2018to search.\u2019\u201d Defendant consented to the search which was otherwise voluntary on the totality.
