{"id":4477,"date":"2010-07-25T08:43:09","date_gmt":"2010-07-25T08:38:22","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2010-07-25T08:38:22","slug":"en-US","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/fourthamendment.com\/?p=4477","title":{"rendered":"NYT: &#8220;Court Under Roberts Is Most Conservative in Decades&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In the NYTimes yesterday, by Adam Liptik: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2010\/07\/25\/us\/25roberts.html?_r=1&amp;hp\">Court Under Roberts Is Most Conservative in Decades<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Remember the &#8220;balls and strikes&#8221; comment: Roberts: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2005\/POLITICS\/09\/12\/roberts.statement\/index.html\">&#8216;My job is to call balls and strikes and not to pitch or bat&#8217;<\/a>?<\/p>\n<p>It seems more to me like it has been calling a force play at second base a home run when one considers the exclusionary rule under <a href=\"http:\/\/scholar.google.com\/scholar_case?case=7651846853018458306&amp;q=michigan+v.+hudson&amp;hl=en&amp;as_sdt=20002\">Hudson<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/scholar.google.com\/scholar_case?case=3829471951415365195&amp;q=herring&amp;hl=en&amp;as_sdt=20002\">Herring<\/a>. And remember, Roberts dissented in <a href=\"http:\/\/scholar.google.com\/scholar_case?case=4755468061403609564&amp;q=arizona+v.+gant&amp;hl=en&amp;as_sdt=20002\">Gant<\/a>. The Government can hardly do no wrong, and as an umpire, he can rig the game, 5-4, most of the time.
