In September 2010, it was clearly established that comparable uses of gratuitous force against a subdued and restrained detainee was unreasonable. &#8230; Appellees&#8217; expert agreed that an officer aware of the law on September 30, 2010, should know that stepping on a restrained person&#8217;s face with the amount of force described by Lansdale, when the person is on the ground and not resisting, violates the law.\u201d The causation for death, however, wasn\u2019t shown, and that part of the verdict is reversed.  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.search.txcourts.gov\/SearchMedia.aspx?MediaVersionID=28c0aabc-f28d-4e50-a584-2b4a1f2eed42&#038;coa=coa14&#038;DT=Opinion&#038;MediaID=6863ac8a-2ee7-49a3-bb92-bed19a2c3267\">Harris Cty. v.
