So, asking for the log book was a reasonable start to a stop of a commercial truck, and the log book being incomplete and inconsistent with other paperwork was reasonable suspicion. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ca9.uscourts.gov\/ca9\/newopinions.nsf\/ECA6CE93A71B761A882574DB0058C919\/$file\/0750238.pdf?openelement\">United States v. Delgado<\/a>, 545 F.3d 1195 (9th Cir. 2008):<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>We similarly conclude that commercial trucking is a pervasively regulated industry. Commercial trucking is subject to extensive federal regulation. See, e.g., 49 U.S.C. \u00a7 31142; 49 C.F.R. \u00a7 391.11; 49 C.F.R. \u00a7 391.15; 49 C.F.R. \u00a7 395.3; 49 C.F.R. \u00a7 395.8. Numerous states also impose substantial regulatory and inspection standards for commercial vehicles. See, e.g., Ariz. Rev. Stat. Ann. \u00a7 41-2066(A)(4); Cal. Veh. Code \u00a7 2813; Haw. Rev. Stat. \u00a7 286-209(a); Mont. Code Ann. \u00a7 61-10-141(1)(a); Nev. Rev. Stat. \u00a7 581.057(4); Or. Rev. Stat. \u00a7 825.250(1); Wash. Rev. Code \u00a7 46.32.010(2).
