When the officers came upon defendant parked in a high crime area, he was putting something in the glove compartment, apparently to get it out of the view of the officer. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lexisone.com\/lx1\/caselaw\/freecaselaw?searchType=citation&amp;fclSearch=2008+La.+App.+LEXIS+449+&amp;action=FCLSearchCaseByCitation&amp;pageLimit=10&amp;format=CITE&amp;pageNumber=1&amp;sourceID=&amp;citation=2008+La.+App.+LEXIS+449+&amp;searchTerm=\">State v. Wilder<\/a>, 983 So. 2d 124 (La. App. 5th Cir. 2008), released for publication June 9, 2008.* (<em>Comment:<\/em> <em>Long<\/em> was decided 25 years ago, and it surprisingly finds little use in the caselaw these days. It is far easier for the prosecution to argue that a protective weapons search was required under <em>Long<\/em> on reasonable suspicion than a search incident on probable cause.)<\/p>\n<p>Smell of marijuana in a common area of an apartment complex was sufficiently shown for probable cause purposes to be coming from one apartment to justify a search of that apartment. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.judicial.state.ia.us\/court_of_appeals\/Recent_Opinions\/20080326\/8-021.pdf\">State v.
