{"id":1611,"date":"2008-01-03T12:21:18","date_gmt":"2007-12-17T14:26:58","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2007-12-17T14:26:58","slug":"en-US","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/fourthamendment.com\/?p=1611","title":{"rendered":"Drew Peterson&#8217;s request for return of seized property denied"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An Illinois judge today denied murder &#8220;person of interest&#8221; Drew Peterson&#8217;s request for return of property seized under a search warrant after just a five minute hearing, as reported on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2007\/US\/law\/12\/17\/peterson.wife.ap\/index.html#cnnSTCText\">CNN.com<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Attorneys for Drew Peterson have stated that authorities had ample time to examine items seized since Stacy Peterson went missing in late October.<\/p>\n<p>But on Monday they said that Will County Judge Daniel Rozek&#8217;s ruling was reasonable.<\/p>\n<p>Attorney Joel Brodsky said the judge plans to reconsider the issue next month.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Forensics are very intricate, detailed,&#8221; Brodsky said after a five-minute hearing. &#8220;It&#8217;s only been seven weeks and we&#8217;re happy the judge is going to keep a leash on them.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Computers and cars were seized, and Peterson claims he wants only one of each back. I would not have even filed such a motion because it inevitably would have been denied, and the court denying the motion only adds to the negative publicity.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Update:<\/strong> Peterson&#8217;s counsel was on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.msnbc.msn.com\/id\/21134540\/vp\/22304191#22304191\">Dan Abrams<\/a> on MSNBC last night, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.msnbc.msn.com\/id\/21134540\/vp\/22304191#22304191\">it was not pretty<\/a>.
