Defendant\u2019s continued stop was justified by his giving false identification. \u201cIn addition, it is permissible for a police officer to ask a person stopped for a traffic violation if he is armed, even in the absence of a reasonable suspicion that the person is armed and presents a danger to the officer or others.\u201d Here, it was raised as an IAC claim and it was futile. The citizen informant in this case called the police and then met them in the neighborhood as they approached defendant\u2019s house. He identified himself and made himself accountable for what he said, and that made his story more believable.
